Downtown Houston Stakeholders –

Tonight, a violent storm ripped through our community. Downtown suffered significant property damage, including downed trees, shattered windows, and more. At Mayor Whitmire’s direction, we’re encouraging all Downtown employers to allow their employees to work from home, Friday, May 17th, to allow clean up crews the opportunity to remove the debris. “Assiduity” is a mural dedicated to essential workers whose critical work has kept the country functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping many of us go through the hardship of the lockdown. It is also dedicated to “No Poverty”, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1, as half of Americans in low-wage occupations are indeed essential workers.
