A Vision for 2025
Profound changes can take place over the course of twenty years and it is imperative that a strategy is in place to guide development and decision making. Houstonians who share a desire for a great city have crafted the Houston Downtown Development Framework to ensure that Houston will not recede into the ranks of second-tier metropolises, but will instead emerge as one of the world’s most respected cities.
As Houston has already demonstrated, a spirited coalition of public commitment, private investment and civic pride can change a city. It is time to reaffirm these qualities by supporting the ongoing evolution of downtown.
The Houston Downtown Development Framework is a collaborative effort of private property owners, businesses, citizens, nonprofit organizations, special districts and government and public agencies. This Framework serves as a guide for urban design and public policy over the next 20 years.
